American Hardwood Export Council
AHEC is the leading international trade association for the US hardwood industry, representing the committed exporters among US hardwood companies and all the major US hardwood product trade associations. AHEC can provide the hardwood trade – importers, specifiers, users – with promotional assistance, technical publications, and sources of supply for US hardwoods.
APA – The Engineered Wood Association
This Trade Association represents the US and Canadian engineered wood products industry.
British Woodworking Federation
The BWF, the voice of the woodworking industry, represents manufacturers of doors, windows, conservatories, staircases, architectural joinery, timber framed buildings and engineered timber components. It provides a complete range of services to its Members including expert advice on technical, employment, health and safety, tax issues etc. The BWF also represents and provides a link with Suppliers to the Industry.
Canada Wood UK
Canada Wood UK is a co-operation between the Canadian Plywood Association, Canadian Lumbermens Association, Council of Forest Industries, Maritime Lumber Bureau, NLGA, Ontario Lumber Manufacturers Association, Quebec Lumber Manufacturers Association and Quebec Wood Export Bureau for representation in all aspects of common interest and provision of technical support for users of member company production.
Structural Timber Association
The Structural Timber Association promotes the use of structural timber products and systems within the UK construction industry. Formerly known as the UK Timber Frame Association, the enlarged Association now includes suppliers of integrated hybrid solutions, including SIPS, Glulam and CLT products, as well as traditional timber frame systems.
TRADA – the Timber Research and Development Association – is an internationally recognised centre of excellence on the specification and use of timber and wood products. TRADA provides a broad range of research, training and information services as well as providing bespoke consultancy for individual customers.
Timber Decking and Cladding Association
The Timber Decking and Cladding Association acts as a technical and advisory body for the UK timber decking and timber cladding industries. The TDCA website provides an in-depth information resource.
Timber Trade Federation
‘The Timber Trade Federation is a trade association for the timber supply chain in the UK, with members including timber importers, merchants, agents and manufacturers.
Trussed Rafter Association
The Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) is the voice of the timber trussed rafter industry. Externally it forges links with the public and private sectors to promote the industry’s interests and liaises with research and regulatory bodies concerning product specifications and health and safety and environmental matters. Within the industry, the TRA pools resources, develops professionalism and ensures it members are at the forefront of future opportunity and innovation.
Wood Panel Industries Federation
WPIF represents manufacturers of Wood Particleboard, Oriented Strand Board, Fibreboards, Cement Bonded Particleboards in the UK and and Ireland, and leading resin and chemical suppliers. Responding to a technical and environmental remit, the Federation anticipates and identifies the influences and pressure points to which sectoral responses are appropriate, and also develops strategies which are adaptable to the changing demands of legislation, public opinion and customers.
Wood Protection Association
WPA – The Wood Protection Association and its members champion the use of building with timber – influencing, developing and promoting technologies that enhance its performance and value as a building resource for the future. The WPA website provides technical information and advice relating to preservative treatment of wood and wood products, flame retardants and wood modification.
